
BIOGRAPHY
Born into the family of Yuri Fedorovich Volochkov (born July 31, 1947), champion of the Soviet Union in men's doubles (with Ivan Minkevich) in table tennis in 1983, athletics coach at a sports school, and Tamara Vladimirovna Antonova (born December 3, 1951) , a tour guide in St. Petersburg. According to Volochkova herself, she dreamed of becoming a ballerina from the age of five, since her mother took her to the Nutcracker ballet at the Mariinsky Theater.
She studied at the Academy of Russian Ballet. A. Ya. Vaganova, graduated from the class of Natalia Dudinskaya. In 1994, while still a student of the II, pre-release course, she began performing solo parts at the Mariinsky Theater. After graduation, she was immediately accepted as a soloist. Already in the first years of her work she performed the main roles in such ballets as Giselle, Le Corsaire, Swan Lake, Raymonda and The Firebird.
In 1998 she received an invitation from Vladimir Vasiliev to the Bolshoi Theater to perform the main role of the Swan Princess in his new production of Swan Lake. She also sang the parts of Nikiya (La Bayadere), Raymonda, Fairy Lilac (The Sleeping Beauty) in the revisions of Yuri Grigorovich. Along with work in the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater, he began a solo career, performing with his own concert numbers and in troupes of other theaters.
After a tour in Great Britain in early 2000, Anastasia got an engagement in London with the English National Ballet, where the choreographer Derek Dean composed especially for her the part of Fairy Carabosse in his own production of Sleeping Beauty. In March 2000, she returned to Moscow and signed a contract for the next season for the lead roles at the Bolshoi Theater.
